We are thrilled to announce that Canopy was chosen as one of the recipients of the 2019/2020 Claremont Community Foundation grants!

With this grant we will be kicking off Canopy’s New Beginnings Internship Program! This program will give Canopy family members on-the-job training and work experience to build their resumes. Each participating intern will be placed in a paid internship within the Canopy organization to support day-to-day operations, serve as peer navigators for new arrival families, and receive professional coaching on public speaking to become paid community ambassadors. In addition to the direct benefit to the interns and the new arrival families with whom they work, the program will inspire hope in the broader refugee community for a productive future in the United States, while demonstrating to their new neighbors that refugees aim to become full participants in their new communities.

We are so grateful to Claremont Community Foundation for choosing us as one of this year’s recipients! We are so lucky to have such a supportive community as we welcome our newest neighbors!
